UGA Advantage: Double Dawgs
The Double Dawgs program was created to give ambitious and motivated students a competitive advantage in today’s knowledge economy. By earning both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in five years or less, students can save time and money while positioning themselves for success after graduation.
The College of Engineering offers eight Double Dawg Programs:
- Agricultural Engineering - BS-MS
- Biological Engineering - BS-MS
- Biochemical Engineering - BS-MS
- Environmental Engineering - BS-MS
- Civil Engineering BS - MS Engineering with Civil Engineering Emphasis
- Mechanical Engineering BS - MS Engineering with Mechanical Engineering Emphasis
- Computer Systems Engineering BS - MS Engineering with ECE Emphasis
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering BS - MS Engineering with ECE Emphasis
These programs allow BS engineering students engaged in undergraduate research to complete 12 hours of graduate coursework during their final undergraduate semesters, graduate with a BS, then complete their research and coursework for the MS, receiving both degrees in five years.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum overall UGA GPA of 3.0
- Be on track to complete their BS degree within the next three semesters
- Be considering completion of a Master's in your area of engineering after graduation
- Be currently engaged in research with a faculty member (or have firm plans to be)
