Each year, Capstone Senior Design students present at the Capstone Design Showcase, displaying their prototypes, designs and solutions developed for their projects. During the event, projects are evaluated by a judging team comprised of engineering professionals in both industry and academia. Capstone projects are evaluated based on criteria aligned with the learning outcomes outlined by ABET.  Awards are given for the best projects in the following categories:

  • Community Impact
  • Computerized System or Software Design
  • Machine Design
  • Manufactured System or Process Design
  • Medical Device or Biological Process Design
  • Sustainable Design

The Capstone Design Showcase for the 2019 - 2020 academic year scheduled to be held on April 23, 2020 has been canceled. Instead of an in-person event, we were able to showcase the projects and accomlishments of our Capstone teams virutally.

The 2020 Virtual Capstone Design Showcase was held between April 27th – April 30th and hosted on the College of Engineering website.  The virtual showcase was a forum for students to present their year-long capstone design project solutions to the college, university, sponsors, and broader audience. During “Capstone Week” projects were be judged in their respective categories: Creative Machine Design, Manufactured System or Process Design, Medical Device or Biological Process Design, Computerized System or Software Design, Community Impact, and Sustainable Design.
