Rethinking engineering education
Dr. Sochacka is a co–director of the engineering education research CLUSTER at the University of Georgia. Supported by over $650,000 in funding, her research interests include STEAM (STEM + Art) education, empathy, diversity, and reflection. Dr. Sochacka’s work has been recognized through multiple best paper awards at international and national conferences. Her internationally recognized expertise in interpretive research methods informs her efforts to build social capital and capacity around interpretive methods in engineering education. She has been invited to serve as a keynote speaker at the Research in Engineering Education Symposium (REES) in Bogota, Columbia in July 2017.
